Kris Strobel, The Professional
I spent the early years of my professional life working in small business management. I had an associate degree but wanted more. I was lucky to live in a community with a four year university. Upon completion of my BA in Communications I took my first paid nonprofit position as Executive Director of a Habitat for Humanity affiliate. And as I am fond of saying, Habitat stole my heart. This led to work with other nonprofits like American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, MN ReadingCorps and MN MathCorps, and more. Still, Habitat was the catalyst that drove me to get my Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from Hamline University in 2010.
I (un)fortunately lost my last nonprofit position due to the Pandemic. But, this has allowed me to pursue my own web site and do what I have always wanted to do, become an instructor in nonprofit management topics.
My dream is to continue to make a difference in many nonprofits by helping each one of you become better in your nonprofit activities. Together, we can made a greater difference in the world.
Announcing: I have just been accepted into a PhD program in Strategic Leadership. Wish me luck!
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that can.

Kris Strobel, The Person
Wife, mother and friend, my newest passion is being a grandmother to the cutest little boy in the world. (OK, I might be a bit prejudiced.) I love all things gardening, and I quilt in the winter. I am a piano player and am passionate about reading. I am, and always will be, a life learner.
I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had in life; the opportunity to get my undergraduate degree, the opportunity to move on to getting a masters degree, and the opportunity to work with some of the most wonderful nonprofits that exist. I wish you that same passion in your work with your nonprofits.
I hope you'll enjoy the following, a Franciscan Blessing, which also comes from my time working with Habitat.
